Vehicle rules and automatic cleanup

How many vehicles you can keep, what counts as a vehicle, and how unmoved or over-cap vehicles are removed automatically.

The limit

You may keep 3 vehicles per map inside your base or inside the radius of a territory flag you are authorised on.

  • A team is a solo player or a group sharing a base. The limit is per team, not per base — several bases on one map do not add vehicles.
  • The limit is per map. Three on every map is fine.
  • Teams that operate as one (shared codelocks, shared storage, raiding together) count as one team no matter how many bases they hold.
  • You may not unpack a vehicle inside your base or territory if that puts you over the limit.
  • The automatic system counts per flag, not per team and not per map. Two flags far enough apart each protect their own set, and a vehicle standing inside two overlapping flags is safe if it makes the cap of either one. The per-team, per-map limit above that is a rule staff enforce — the script will not catch you breaking it.

What counts as a vehicle

  • Any chassis counts; attachments are irrelevant. A fully stripped chassis still counts.
  • Boats count, and as of the latest client update boats carry cargo of their own. That makes a boat both a container and a vehicle occupying one of your flag's slots — and opening that cargo does not keep it alive. A boat is very hard to park inside a flag radius, so treat anything you leave in one as being on the unmoved-vehicle clock.
  • Packed vehicles (Vehicle packing) do not count.
  • A vehicle counts when it is parked inside your base, inside your flag radius (50 m around the flag), or when it cannot be driven away without raiding your base.
  • Vehicles parked in the open, away from any base or flag, are fair game for everyone and do not count — but they are subject to cleanup.

Automatic cleanup

  • A vehicle that is not moved for 48 h despawns. "Moved" means driven some distance from where it was last parked. Nothing else resets it. Sitting in the vehicle, climbing out of it, opening its cargo, or parking storage next to it deliberately do not count any more — a chassis stashed in the woods decays on schedule no matter how often you visit it. The distance is measured from where the vehicle last actually moved, not from the last check, so nudging it a little at a time never adds up.
  • An active flag protects the 3 vehicles parked closest to it — park the ones you want to keep nearest the flag.
  • A protected vehicle shows the territory flag icon behind its name — the same marker your fences get. No icon on a vehicle inside your base usually means it is not protected — but give it one check cycle first. The markers are re-sent every 20 min, and a vehicle that loaded in before the server last re-sent them can show nothing at all until the next pass. Judge a vehicle you have just logged in next to only after that.
  • Any further vehicle inside the flag radius is not protected: (decaying) is appended to its name and it is deleted after 1 h. The warning follows your aim — you will see it whether you are looking at the whole vehicle or at a door, a wheel or the engine.
  • Moving an excess vehicle does not save it. Drive it out of the territory (back on the normal unmoved-vehicle timer) or pack it.
  • Ruined chassis do not take a slot.
  • A flag only counts as active while it still has refresher time. Let the flag run down and every vehicle in the territory loses protection.
  • Packing a chassis and setting it back down gives it a full fresh clock, wherever you put it down again. It is the cheapest way to keep a vehicle you are not driving.
  • Cleanup happens without warning and nothing is refunded. Keep your flag raised. The vehicle is at full health right up to the moment it vanishes, and everything inside it and bolted to it goes with it. There is no wreck left behind to loot.

Vehicles and raiding

  • Vehicles inside a base you raided do not count towards your limit as long as other players can still reach them.
  • If you seal a base you have taken full control of, any excess chassis must be ruined, packed or driven out within 48 hours.
  • Intact chassis left sealed inside count towards your limit. Wrecks in a base you raided must be cleared within 48 hours.

Consequences

Excess vehicles are deleted without warning and without compensation; staff decide which ones go. Unsure whether you are over? Open a ticket on Discord first.
