AN-94, M1014, MP-27, Uzi, TEC-9 and the Inspect key
The AN-94 with its two-round hyperburst, the M1014, the Baikal MP-27, the Uzi and the TEC-9 — plus the Inspect Weapon key, the custom reload animations, and why a Worn gun does not jam.
Five DayZed guns, the key that lets you look your weapon over, the custom reload animations, and how jamming works on worn gear.
The guns
| Gun | Calibre | Feeds from |
|---|---|---|
| AN-94 | 5.45x39 | standard AK-74 magazines such as the 30rd KA-74 Mag |
M1014 |
12 gauge — buckshot or slugs | internal tube |
| Baikal MP-27 | 12 gauge | two barrels, over/under |
| Uzi | 9x19 | Standard 9mm 32Rnd Magazine |
| TEC-9 | 9x19 | Standard 9mm 32Rnd Magazine |
AN-94
Semi, Burst and Full auto. The burst is the AN-94's famous hyperburst: two rounds per trigger pull at an extremely high rate, and both rounds count as hits. Recoil in Semi and Burst is noticeably lower than an AK-74's.
It takes the usual AK furniture: an AK buttstock, optic, grip, light, wrap and AK muzzle devices. The optic rail only appears once an optic is fitted. The AN-94 Buttstock fits any AK, with less recoil and sway than most stocks.
M1014
A semi-automatic 12 gauge with a tighter pellet pattern than the vanilla shotguns, loaded one shell
at a time into its tube. Slots: optic, wrap, the
Tactical Shotgun Suppressor, and a handguard.
It spawns with the M1014 Handguard; swap in the M1014 Rail Handguard if
you want a grip or a light — a light needs the rail handguard, and comes off with it.
Baikal MP-27
An over/under break-action 12 gauge: two shots, then break it open and reload both barrels.
Uzi and TEC-9
Two 9 mm machine pistols sharing the same Standard 9mm 32Rnd Magazine, and both take a
Pistol Suppressor. The TEC-9 is full auto only.
Both are open-bolt guns and behave like it: when the last round goes, the bolt slams forward on an empty chamber. Swap the magazine and rack the charging handle before it will fire again — a mag swap alone leaves you clicking.
The Inspect key
Press I (rebind it under Controls → DayZed) with a weapon in your hands and your character turns it over and looks it through (Inspect Weapon).
- Works on almost every firearm: the AK family, AUG, FAMAS, M4/M16, FAL, SCAR-H, SVD/VSS/VAL, the Mosin and other bolt-actions, the CZs, the shotguns, the pistols — and the DayZed guns built on them, including every gun on this page.
- Works on twelve knives: combat (
Combat Knife), hunting, kitchen, steak, bone, stone, Fange and
kukri knives, and the AK, M9A1, Mosin and SKS bayonets. - Not while prone, and not while aiming down the sights. A knife cannot be inspected while it is raised.
Reload, charge and inspect animations
These guns have their own animations and sounds:
- AN-94, HK433, STG44, Kriss Vector, Uzi, TEC-9 — reloads and charging. The magazine shows in the left hand during the HK433 and AN-94 reloads.
- AWM — both reloads, the bolt cycle, and an inspect that pulls the magazine.
- Kar98K — bolt cycle, round-by-round reload, and a stripper-clip reload with a visible clip.
- Marlin — lever cycle and tube reload.
- SPAS-12 — round-by-round tube reload.
- M1014 — tube reload, loading through the port, and inspect.
- Baikal MP-27 — break-open reloads and inspect.
Worn guns do not jam
A Worn weapon or magazine adds no jam chance. Keep your gun and its magazine at Worn or better — cleaning kits do that — and wear alone will never jam it. A Damaged or worse gun or magazine still jams at the normal DayZ rate, and a round loaded straight into the chamber with no magazine fitted keeps its small vanilla chance.
Shotgun suppressor
The
Tactical Shotgun Suppressor fits the SPAS-12 and the M1014, and it is built to last: it takes a
lot of shots before it wears down.
